Andy searches for artists from the Middle East region and analyses their quality and suitability for ARTZU. This knowledge, and the ongoing communication between Andy, the artists and the region’s galleries, provide him with a unique qualification to advise on Middle East Contemporary Art.
Andy’s strength is in identifying artistic quality from a region where the image is suddenly a powerful commodity. The best work is often intended to challenge the viewer and to identify the best, Andy searches the studios of the established, the young, and the new, even graffiti artists on the street, so that his understanding of the Middle East art scene is comprehensive.
